Process equipment / Dry-coolers
Dry-coolers are finned tube heat exchangers where you cool down liquids by ambient air. The liquid flows through the finned coil and the air is forced by fans.
No external water source is needed as you need for a conventional evaporative cooling tower which means no water treatment is needed. Only electricity and ambient air.
Why not always use dry-coolers for your cooling application? Because everything has it's limits. A Dry-cooler can cool down a liquid +/- 3°C above the ambient dry bulb temperature.
A dry-cooler has many uses and applications. A small selections of the applications are:
Process water cooler
Free-cooler for chiller
Condensor cooling for water cooled chiller
